2008 "Hula Basics" Session 3 Posted to Website!

New Session Start Date:
Friday, May 9th thru Monday, June 30th

Register by April 20th to receive $15.00 off $95 registration fee
A Session comprises 7 weeks of 55 min. classes for the Teen/Adult classes and 45 min. for Mommy/Me & Children Classes
Maximum no. of credits (make-ups) per session will be two (2) classes.

Pa`u Workshop:

Mahalo to all who made the pa`u workshop the success that it was. We were blessed with a beautiful wela (hot) day. Mahalo to each and everyone one of you that was present and for putting your best effort into making your halau pa`u. Mahalo to Marisa, Wailana and Loke for all of your kokua, it was ever so greatly appreciated.

5 - 5'x6' rolling mirrors arrived in March. Everyone can now see what they look like! Like anything else, there are pros and cons... some liked seeing what they look like and others preferred not really seeing themselves.... oh well!

Mahalo for an awesome 2007!

It has been a teriffic first year here at Got Hula and Halau Hula o Hailialohapumehana and I have all of you to thank for it! Each session grew with one or two classes being added and finally having a total of 9 classes by the 5th session. I hope your lives have been enriched with the love of hula and the art of dancing purely for the joy of it, as you have all enriched my life! I'm grateful for your continued love and support and look forward to enjoying the month of December off as we celebrate the holidays with family and friends. I wish you all safe and heartfelt joyous Thanksgiving Day! ~ I hope to see you all at the Decemeber 2nd Party!

Last "Hula Basics" Session Classes have started!

A few more days are left to still register for the Last "Hula Basics" 8 week session classes. The session started this past Monday, October 1st and ends Saturday, December 1st.

Update on Mommy / Me classes

The regular class meeting day and time is Saturday mornings at 9 am to 9:45. The Mommy & Me class for October is now closed.

Stay posted on the website for upcoming 2008 schedule!

Note: sometimes due to scheduling conflicts, classes may be rescheduled. Always be sure to check the website http://www.gothula.net/calendar for current schedule.

*** The first Mommy/Me was Sunday, Sept. 9th @ 9 (in lieu of Saturday).

Other Saturday class changes:

Saturday October 20th class meets on Sunday, October 21st at the same time.

Description of class: Parents and / or guardians particpate in this group class with their child and learn along with them. This way parents along with the child can be immersed into the language, culture and dance at the same time. This way parents can help to reinforce what was taught in class at home or whenver they have a chance!

New Polynesian Dance class added

Due to popular demand a Teen/Adult polynesian class has been added. Space is limited so call (310) 543-4883 to reserve your spot now, space is limited. There are only 8 spaces left.

Paid monthly ($50.00) for beginner to advance levels. Dances and drills from tahitian, maori (poi balls) and other hawaiian impletment numbers will be taught.

The regular class time is: Sunday mornings 9 to 9:55 unless other wise noted. The first class meets on Sunday, September 9th at 11 - 11:55 due to Saturday, Sept. 8th classes being pushed over a day.

The same time change (meet at 11 am) applies to Sunday, October 21st!
