  • Hula Basics I:   Basic hands and feet in both kahiko (ancient) and `auana (modern) hula will be taught over seven weeks, 55 min. each session . This is a pre-requisite course to the Hula Basic II course.

 

  • Hula Basics II: Basic hands and feet will be reviewed in kahiko (ancient) and `auana (modern) hula. A dance number in either  styles of hula will be taught for a ho`ike (debut) sharing at the end of this seven week 55 min. course. Students will not be required to participate. Completion of this sessionn will allow you to enroll into halau.

 

  • Continuation Classes:  These classes are for teens and adults who have completed the HBII course and want to continue to learn hula purely for entertainment and recreational purposes only.  They love hula and the culture but just don't have the desire or the time to commit to the deeper study of the mele hula or oli and the requirements of halau. 

 

  • MOMMY & ME CLASSES:  These classes are for mom's with 2 to 4 yr olds that show an interest in song and dance and allows you the opportunity to be with them while they are being exposed to songs and dances of Hawaii nei!
  •  

  • Polynesian Teen/Adults Class:  Paid monthly ($50.00) for beginner to advance levels.  Dances and drills from tahitian, maori (poi balls) and hawaiian implement numbers will be taught.

Halau Hula o Hailialohapumehana established August 4, 2007;

is a traditonal school of hula. The mission of the school is to provide a positive environment that promotes cultural awareness among the students and in the community, as well as the personal growth and development of each student. The halau provides formal training in the study of hula, including traditional Hawaiian dance, chants, music, language, history, values, customs, arts and crafts.
